Department of Community Medicine

The department orients the students to disseminate the health awareness in the community. The department is having well organized infrastructure, well equipped community outreach centres (Health Centres), museum with audio-visual teaching aids and internet facility fulfilling the NMC regulations. Community medicine is largely expanding discipline dealing with non-communicable diseases epidemiology, occupational health hazards, disaster management, mental health etc.

• To carry out early diagnosis and related treatment for the locally endemic health problems in the community.
• To take active participation in the national and international health programmes.
• To conduct good quality community based research.
